A biography of pseudo-quack axiom
This mysterious group of Texas musicians trace their
origins back to 1999 when this young group of five trailblazing musicians first
did battle with the expectations of corporate America and defined themselves as
indefinable. Featuring
With Joe Williams providing dark churning vocals and intensely dark and driving lyrics this band could find a home amongst many of today's metal bands. His deep growling voice combined with the churning rhythms of PQA are reminiscent of many of metals great bands but uniquely original and difficult to define but easy to enjoy. PQA is given a sense of mystery and macabre by the stylistic and haunting keyboards of Arthur Drueppel. He carefully weaves his notes into the framework of the song in a way that always adds to and never detracts from the music. He gives PQA a definite sense of the dramatic, and adds to the songs exactly what is needed giving the song added dimension. Gerald Drueppel's vocals are emotionally charged and driven by a determination to reach the listener on his own terms. this heartfelt and spontaneous spark ignites the songs and brings them a human dimension that is both personal and energizing. His lyrics are deep and thoughtful testimony that scream out at the injustices of the world. Raina West's thundering and driving bass lines hold together and solidify the band and bring a consistency to the diverse influences of the group. Her five string bass propel the songs along while giving them color and texture which add to the allure and mystery of the group while expertly holding together the center. David Lazarus provides solidity and a sense of energy. His seven string guitar provides a solid core to the songs and drives them forward towards an inevitable climax. His vocals create a haunting melodic backdrop that help to draw the listener in. His occasional guitar solos are melodically driven bursts of energy which seem spontaneously created.
